One of the things I've always, always sucked at in EVE Online it's making money. With a game so driven by player economy, that's not a good thing. When I was in one of the most aggressive corps out there, I had to watch how my fellow capsuleers spent millions of ISK on battleships and fancy equipment, while I had to delve deep into my pockets to replace the Thorax I lost while fighting the enemy and often found myself going for Tech 1 equipment just to be able to fly again. I've tried investing in corps that could give me some form of passive income, but since I've never been able to invest very much I haven't really made that much money from that.

These days I'm in my own corp, population me and my alt, planted in Perimeter - a system one jump from Jita, the economic hub of the Caldari state (and, arguably, the whole EVE Cluster). I'm like a homeless person living just outside Wall Street, dreaming about the riches being made a few blocks away. I don't really have the time to play as much as I'd like, far from it, so I don't have time to draw up a plan on how to make fast cash either. I am far from any agents that will give me lucrative missions, I can't mine and researching where to start up a great trading empire is not something that I'll be able to do for a while. So, what should I do with the 20-odd millions I currently have in my wallet?

Eris Discordia to the rescue. Ambulation, as the Walking in Station-expansion has been called for a long time now, will be shown at Fanfest this year and Eris has written a nice dev blog about what we can expect. CCP t0rfiFrans will be giving a presentation about the work they've done so far and after that "...you had better hope you are wearing running shoes, because after that presentation we will open up the room where you, the players, put the MM in MMO. For the first time ever, you will be able to walk around together in a station. You don't have to hold hands while you are doing the walking together though, but you can drink together and play games... together... in an MMO."

Aaaah. Drink together. Hopefully, WiS will bring enough to do in stations that I can spend my days there, old and bitter, my currently wasted skillpoints being eaten away by virtual alcohol. There I can spend my millions on wine, women and song, dreaming about my glorious days on the frontier, telling anyone that passes about the time when I was bumping my cruiser against an Amarr carrier in order to piss the pilot off enough to open fire first and recieve the wrath of the stargate turrets.

I'll probably do this in Perimeter, always planning to make the jump to Jita in order to get closer to the ISK but never getting my behind out of the barstool. Maybe I can gamble away my money, or strike it big by pure chance. Hopefully the dividends I make from my investments will allow me to keep me drinking for a long time.
