EA's Press Conference unveiled Black Box's new Need for Speed title; a cinematic take on the franchise that sees a race from San Francisco to New York intercut with QTE on-foot sequences.

The demo that was shown at the conference saw your character escape from his car with the police in hot pursuit, racing across rooftops, and with each leap and dodge inputed through a QTE sequence, which continued with a scrap with two officers before stealing their car and the race started again.

Whether every out-of-car section will be treated as such, and whether its simply a part of the the game's main story, is unknown. The racing was classic Need for Speed, the visuals as crisp and smooth as you'd expect a title running on the Frostbite 2 engine.

Check out the screens.
