As was previously rumoured, Apple announced a new version of Apple TV during yesterday's event in San Francisco, a system that will be focussed mainly on Apps.
Consumers will be able to access a specific Apple TV Store, where they can also play games. Disney Infinity 3.0, Guitar Hero Live, Crossy Road and Rayman Adventures where the games confirmed during the event (and since then Skylanders SuperChargers and Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved have also been confirmed).
With a new Apple TV comes a new remote, which will feature a touch panel so users can navigate the menus more easily. Siri will also play a big part, allowing users to access the device via voice commands. In some games players will also be able to use other Apple devices as controllers.
The 32 GB version of the new Apple TV system will cost $149, while the 64 GB version will cost $199, and both releasing in October in the US.
