New Amplitude delayed until 2016

But there's good news as it will be a much larger game than originally planned.

Harmonix have taken to their Kickstarter page for Amplitude to give their backers some good and bad news. The bad news first, the game won't release on PS4 until January 2016 (not this summer as originally planned), with Early Access for backers in December.

However, there's some great news to go with that as Harmonix have widened the scope of the game. Instead of the 16 songs originally planned, there will be 30 songs (even 31 for backers at certain tiers). There's also more play modes than originally envisioned, and Harmonix have yet to reveal a new way to play the game (with a Rock Band controller perhaps?):

"Oh! One last thing: There is a new, still-to-be-announced way to play the game that will change the way you think about Amplitude's 6-lane track. More on that at a later date!"

The PS3 version of Amplitude will launch shortly after the PS4 version.

REVIEW. Written by Anne-Marie Coyle

"Its simplified mechanics and homebrew song selection take you on a musical journey that is in equal parts challenging, satisfying and hypnotic."
