Netflix show Dark shows split-screen co-op for The Surge

The German Netflix mystery show Dark included a scene where two characters are seen playing The Surge in co-op. Deck13's game doesn't actually contain a split-screen co-op mode. Now a representative from the studio has reacted to this on Reddit revealing that a producer of the show contacted Deck13 months before the premiere last month.

The producers wanted the game in the show, as it was also developed in Germany. "We agreed and allowed them to even fake a splitscreen if it fitted better for their idea. Some kind of creative rework one could say", writes the Deck13 representative.

The split-screen mode will not be added to The Surge, because "technically it'd wreck the console", Deck13 states, "we'd chose a different way to announce such a feature".
