Netflix is making a series based on The Witcher
The original author will act as creative consultant.
Netflix has announced the production of a television series based on The Witcher, not the series of games we all know, but the books that inspired CD Projekt Red in the first place.
The author of those books, Andrzej Sapkowski, will be taking on the role of creative consultant, and it has already been confirmed that Tomas Baginski, director of the CD Projekt Red's cinematic intros, will direct at least one episode.
The project will be a collaboration between Netflix and The Sean Daniel Company, ran by Sean Daniel and Jason Brown. Sapkowski himself commented on the series: "I am thrilled that Netflix will be doing adaptation of my stories, staying true to the source material and the themes that I have spent over thirty years writing".
According to what has been revealed so far, CD Projekt Red will not be involved in the production of the series.
