These days, former NBA superstar Shaquille "Shaq" O'Neal spends his time as a pundit on the TNT network's basketball coverage. But while bantering and doing analysis on Inside the NBA is his main gig, he's also up for promoting shows on other Turner-owned networks.
Take this spot for the Eleague, for instance - the upcoming Counter-Strike league that will have all matches televised on TNT's sister channel, TBS.
The ad sees Shaq goof around with fish-shaped guns, trying to mop blood of the ground and put out car fires on the iconic Counter-Strike map Dust2.
Despite the silly antics, the ad is serious business. Eleague is a huge investment for TBS. The league features a $1.2 million prize pool, and will fly in top teams from the US and Europe to play at the TBS studios in Atlanta. Teams like Fnatic, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Na'Vi and reigning Major champions Luminosity Gaming are attending.
Shaq's involvement also goes further than fooling around in front of a green screen. He's co-owner of the US team NRG, who are also participating in the league. So while he's acting cheesy, the NBA legend probably knows more about the game than he's letting on. Watch the ad on YouTube.
