Recruiting veterans to help with authenticity in video games is nothing new, but perhaps EA went a little too far in their pursuit of authenticity, at least according to US Navy who punished seven active duty individuals following them freelancing for two days with EA, BBC reports.

The soldiers were charged with ""violation of orders, misuse of command gear, dereliction of duty and disclosure of classified material", and were given reprimands and their pay was halved for two months.

"We do not tolerate deviations from the policies that govern who we are and what we do as sailors in the United States Navy," Deputy Commander of Naval Special Warfare Command, Rear Admiral Garry Bonelli.
