Final Fantasy fans were treated to tons of information and bits of news over the weekend, due to the Fan Festival being held in London. As part of that event, we learnt more about the Xbox version of the game, as well as various collaborations and additional new features coming with the Dawntrail expansion.
But to add to this, game director and producer, Naoki Yoshida, spoke about what he'd really like to bring to the game, and this comes in the form of a crossover that would no doubt really please Blizzard fans. Because, following translation, Yoshida mentioned that he'd love to bring the world of Diablo to Final Fantasy XIV.
"I've mentioned this in the past, but I'm a huge Blizzard fan. So I mean, if we could just make it work then I would be so happy to see some sort of collaboration with Diablo. Diablo has quite, like, I would say hardcore graphics outlook in terms of the world.
"So you know, you see spikes here and there. In terms of the ratings, it might be a bit difficult. And of course, on the other hand, we don't really want to disappoint fans of the franchise as well. So yeah, it's a tricky one.
"So of course, if we go for a softer version of Diablo in 14... of course, maybe that's not what people want as well."
Final Fantasy XIV has received many different crossovers over the years, with Fall Guys and Final Fantasy XVI being two upcoming additional ones. Would you like to see Blizzard's Diablo join this rarefied group?
Thanks, PC Gamer.
