Mortal Kombat 11 announced with gory trailer

And it's coming next year.

The rumours were true, as Ed Boon from Netherrealm Studios was on stage during The Game Awards to reveal the winner of the best sports/racing game, however that award was interrupted by the announcement of the next instalment in the Mortal Kombat saga, called Mortal Kombat 11.

In a very gory trailer (which is available for your viewing pleasure below) a fight between Raiden and Scorpion gave us an introduction to what seems to be a new system of designing characters - somewhat reminiscent of the one in Injustice 2.

A full reveal was promised next month, with a release planned for April 23. As Mortal Kombat X ended with a cliffhanger, we look forward to seeing how the Netherrealm will survive when Raiden no longer is willing to protect it.

Check out the first Mortal Kombat 11 trailer below. By pre-ordering the game, you will get beta access as well as the character Shao Khan. What do you think of what we've seen so far from Mortal Kombat 11?

REVIEW. Written by Ricardo C. Esteves

"Mortal Kombat 11 could have been superb, but some of the design decisions Netherrealm has made are regrettable."
