Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Modern Warfare gets keyboard and mouse support on consoles

Matchmaking will be based on your peripherals though, so as to level the playing field in Infinity Ward's shooter.

Infinity Ward is still figuring out how to implement cross-progression into Call of Duty Modern Warfare, but design director Joe Cecot has just confirmed another feature that may make a few console players happy, as those who want to use keyboard and mouse can do so.

Talking about the balance between controller users and those using keyboard and mouse, Cecot took to the PlayStation Blog to explain that "one of the main ways is that we are planning on matchmaking based on peripheral". In short, Infinity Ward is working to provide support for "different peripherals, so if you want to plug a keyboard [and mouse] into your PS4, you can".

Activision revealed the multiplayer side of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare a few days ago, and we went to California to play the game and provide you with a fresh hands-on. A new mode called Gunfight is also on the way, which we've also seen gameplay of, as you can see below.

Will you be using mouse and keyboard?
