Funko Pop figures seem to have taken over the world, as you can get models of your favourite characters from horror films to games and beyond, and now Funko Inc., Universal Games, and Digital Platforms have unveiled a new mobile title from Tic Toc Games called Funko Pop! Blitz, coming soon.
This is a match-three puzzle game featuring character from across the Funko catalog, like Back to the Future, Shrek, Jurassic World, and more, with more details coming at the San Diego Comic-Con's Funko Funkast panel on July 18 at 10:00 local time (18:00 BST, 19:00 CEST).
In Blitz you need to match sets of three in 60-second rounds, and all of the characters have their own animations, as well as Supers which are animations celebrating moments from shows, films, and commercials, used to clear more Pops, create powerups, or add time on the clock. The Blitz Mode is a bit different though, as there's a Blitz meter that fills up, with one of the five characters on the board disappearing when the meter is full.
"Our team at Funko is pleased to be partnering with Universal Games to create the first-ever Funko mobile puzzle game inspired by pop culture," said Brian Mariotti, Chief Executive Officer of Funko. "Fans will soon be able to engage with iconic characters in this immersive, fast-paced mobile gaming experience."
This will be free to download, although there are in-app purchases, with an in-game Marty McFly Pop available alongside in-game gems and times for a limited time at launch. If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, check out the trailer below, as well as some screens.
This isn't the first time Funko has crossed into the realm of games either, as the Gears Pop! game was revealed last year, and got a new trailer at E3 last month.
