The Xbox Corporate Vice President also added that "modern reviews" come from watching streamers play the game.

Anthem doesn't officially release until tomorrow, but many have been sharing their thoughts given the fact that people have been able to play the game early via avenues like EA Access. Some of these opinions haven't been positive regarding Bioware's title, and now Xbox Corporate Vice President Mike Ybarra has shared his thoughts on the bad press.

When referencing PC Gamer's news on the Challenge of the Legionnaires sections being tweaked to reflect progress after level 3 of Freeplay, Ybarra wrote the following:

"This was actually very easy to do. Amazed at the whining. One reviewer, not the below, reviewed the game yet in the review cited that he didn't even know how to do a combo. Embarrassing to review with such a lack of knowledge."

When asked about what he thinks of the game, Ybarra also continued:

"I don't do "reviews" because everyone enjoys different things. I'd suggest "modern reviews" should be watching streamers play a game, doing the demo, listening to what your gaming friends think - and if it seems like something you will enjoy then great."

"Def should also read reviews from your favorite sites/journalists as input. Many things to look at to help determine if you will like or dislike a particular game. I reference many of them all the time for my own decision making. The more the better."

As pointed out by VG247's report on the matter, Microsoft has signed an exclusive marketing deal with Anthem, and as expected these comments of his have been met with a lot of backlash, especially from game reviewers and press.

Do you think Ybarra is justified?

REVIEW. Written by Mike Holmes

"It engages and entertains even if it is a rather distilled and disjointed experience compared to the studio's usual work."
