Keiji Inafune and Comcept are working Mighty No. 9 for console and PC and the game is primed for release in April next year. The studio has now announced, there will be a TV show as well. The first season of the CG animated series is planned for second quarter 2016 with 26 episodes, each 22 minutes long. The target audience for the animated series are kids.
The TV show is done by Digital Frontier, known for Tekken: Blood Vengeance and the two live action movies for Gantz among other things. The story focuses on Beck, a weak transforming combat robot, who was made to fight in a combat robot league as a part of the Mighty numbers. When Beck is the only robot spared from a virus that forces his teammates to destroy mankind, he has to find a way to overcome his own inadequacies so that he can stop them.
