According to Major Nelson, Microsoft is launching a new line up of Xbox wireless controllers. They call it The Xbox Wireless Controller Tech Series, and the first one coming is Xbox Wireless Controller - Recon Tech Special Edition. This controller costs $69.99 USD (about £56.11), and is supposed to be available on April 25.

In developing this new controller, the Xbox team was inspired by military and sci-fi technology, which is obvious just by looking at it. The new controller should also have improved wireless range and Bluetooth technology for gaming on Windows 10. The article mentions specifically that Samsung Gear VR will also work better with this new controller too, and there's also a custom button-mapping feature via Xbox Accessories App, which is downloadable in the Xbox Store and the Windows Store.

A new Copilot feature also allows any two Xbox wireless controllers to be used as one, and this is a great feature for people who for some reason have trouble using a controller by themselves. This Copilot feature will be available via an update later this year.

Does this look like it will significantly enhance your gaming, or does it just look cool?
