On November 23 we reported that Disney abruptly closed down the MMO Marvel Heroes Omega, firing all the employees in Gazillion Entertainment in the process. Back then we didn't know if or how console players would get their money back, as the game had only been out for half a year before it was shut down, but now Microsoft has lifted the veil a little, revealing how they will sort things out for Xbox One owners who purchased the game.
"Marvel Heroes Omega was removed from the Microsoft Store on November 29, 2017, and the game is no longer available to play. If you purchased downloadable content (DLC) for the game then you will receive an automatic credit or refund to your account as follows," Microsoft writes, and here are the details:
You will receive an automatic credit or refund if you purchased Marvel Heroes Omega DLC from the Microsoft Store between September 1 - November 29, 2017.
For Marvel Heroes Omega DLC purchased between October 31 - November 29, 2017, your refund will be credited to your original payment instrument.
For Marvel Heroes Omega DLC purchased between September 1 - October 30, 2017, your refund will be in the form of store credit.
"Your refund or credit will appear in your account by January 31, 2018. The credit you receive will be in the currency matching your Microsoft account," the post adds.
There's currently no word yet on how refunds will work for PS4 owners. Were you a fan of the game?
