It's safe to say that Konami created quite an uproar when they revealed Metal Gear Survive, as people around the world were already upset about how the company parted ways with Hideo Kojima, and announcing a new Metal Gear game shortly after didn't exactly make things better. Top that with the fact that the game seemed to abandon what the series is known for and instead focused on base building and killing hordes of zombie-like enemies, and opinion was sure to be divided.

The majority of the fans weren't happy, so many thought that Konami had changed their mind when the game disappeared off the radar a couple of months later. That's why it was extra surprising when the game resurfaced earlier this year, and was actually praised by many of those who got to play it. It turns out we won't have to wait long to see if the final product will surprise us as well.

Konami has announced that the game will launch on February 22 here in Europe and February 20 in the US. We're also told that we'll see a lot more of the game in the coming months, so it'll be interesting to see if it manages to change some minds before launch.

What are your thoughts on the game?

Metal Gear Survive

REVIEW. Written by Roy Woodhouse

"Survive is good, but certain features combined with the messy divorce with Kojima really has tainted it for some fans."
