Meridian: Squad 22 to hit Early Access next month

A sequel to the 2014 RTS, Meridian: New World, has been announced. Going by the name Meridian: Squad 22, it looks to be a standard sci-fi RTS; this is a good thing, as we've been seeing less developers delve into the genre as of late. What's impressive, though, is that Meridian: Squad 22 is being developed by just one person.

From the trailer it looks like we'll be seeing plenty of action on a number of different fronts. There are air battles, land-based skirmishes, and naval warfare, as well maybe as a mix of all three. The last game in the series was lacking a few basic features, like a functioning camera and easy to use controls.

The game is to hit Steam Early Access on May 30, but the developer isn't intent on staying there for long. The game is apparently close to completion in terms of the units and technology, and the Early Access period is to last around 10 weeks, so the developer can iron out any kinks and take in feedback.
