Disney confirmed that it's shutting down Marvel Heroes only a week ago, and now they just pushed forward the decision, which was originally scheduled for New Year's Eve. The action-MMO game will instead be effectively closed from tomorrow, November 24, and every employee at Gazillion Entertainment just got a pink slip as a consequence.
A ResetEra user close to the matter notes this ironically happened "the day before Thanksgiving", and also underlines how the problem spreads to players themselves.
The online game had been successfully ongoing on PC for years, but its Omega version released on consoles in July. Since then, users have been spending money on the F2P game, and those players are now naturally angry at a decision that comes not even half a year after launch. Some of them are approaching Sony and Microsoft - as PS Store and Xbox Store digital platform holders - asking for refunds, but there's currently no official procedure to get your money back. We'll update you here should an official statement appear.
