Back in January the first ever season of the Call of Duty World League kicked off. This new esports-league is looking to take competitive Call of Duty gaming to a whole new and even more global level with planned livestreams and events throughout the year and a combined prize pool of $3 Million.

Major League Gaming have recently announced via their website that they will be participating in the Call of Duty World League and that they are now using CWL Pro Point awards.

It can be a bit confusing, but these points will be awarded in events planned and hosted by MLG. For example the 60 best teams were awarded points during the Call of Duty MLG Anaheim Open event. The Call of Duty World League Tournaments will be using these CWL Pro Points to seed their Tournament Bracket. More points equals a better seed. So putting it simply, these points will help teams in their efforts to qualify for the Call of Duty World League Championship.

If the teams gathers enough points, they will be invited to the CWL Championship Qualifier, which will be held on the following dates:

North America CWL Championship Qualifier
- 32 Teams will compete for 10 Spots
- Online qualifiers will take place August 12 - 14

Europe CWL Championship Qualifier
- 24 Teams will compete for 8 Spots
- Online qualifiers will take place July 22 - 24

Australia/New Zealand CWL Championship Qualifier
- 16 Teams will compete for 2 sports at CWL Championship
- Online qualifiers will take place July 22 - 24

But if you can't wait until then, and you need your Call of Duty-fix right away, then the Call of Duty World League is your go to place. With it's second season still going and several matches ahead for both Europe, North America and Australia/New Zealand, there's plenty to watch. You can have a look at the schedule and watch the matches live on the Call of Duty-webpage.
