Maia, one of a slew of British indie projects to hit Kickstarter last week is off to an encouraging start with some £28,973 pledged towards the £100,042 goal in just five days.
The game which is described as a God game in the vein of Bullfrog titles like Dungeon Keeper and Theme Hospital, sees players take on a 1970's sci-fi scenario as you try and manage your space colony.
The game is being developed by Simon Roth and his team, and the funding is meant to expand the core development team. Maia is being primed for a playable release as early as January, with a full release planned for next summer on PC, Mac and Linux.
This is certainly one of the more interesting British Kickstarters to crop up, the setting may be it's most unique feature and we're being promised lots of humour to go along with it.
If Maia has peaked your interest you should head over to the Kickstarter campaign page, for more information.
