Liverpool and Konami have announced that they are official partners for at least three years. This means that Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 will contain faithful reproductions of the Liverpool squad, including full licensing as well.

"Konami is committed to working with the very best in modern football, and Liverpool F.C. is the perfect partner," said Konami's Jonas Lygaard. "With its rich history, huge fan base and dynamic style of play implemented by manager Jürgen Klopp, and huge fan base, we look forward to working together to ensure that this fantastic club is perfectly reproduced in PES 2017 and all other future PES titles across home and mobile formats".

Anfield is also set to be reproduced in the game, being made available to players in a free update (so not at launch) that will also bring the team's Gegenpressing style of play and the "You'll Never Walk Alone" anthem.

The news of this partnership comes after Manchester United was announced as an official partner of FIFA 17, joining the likes of Bayern Munich and Juventus, not to mention the La Liga deal as well. PES 17, meanwhile, now has Liverpool and Barcelona as their official partners. PES does have a lower level partnerships with Atlético Madrid and Arsenal), however, Adam Bhatti has said that more licensed clubs will join the game in the future.
