Linkle and Hyrule Warriors: Legends limited edition announced

Among the many announcements Nintendo made last night about The Legend of Zelda series, the company offered new details on Hyrule Warriors: Legends, the handheld version of Hyrule Warriors, developed exclusively for Nintendo Wii U by Omega Force, the creators of the Dynasty Warriors series.

Hyrule Warriors: Legends adds lots of new content, and alongside Tetra, Toon Link and the King of Hyrule from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, other characters will join the roster, such as Skull Kid from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Among these new characters, one that has attracted our attention is Linkle, a girl living in a small village able to wield two crossbows. The revelation of Linkle, who looks like a female version of Link, opens again to an old issue that emerged a few years ago, following the Nintendo Direct in 2014, where a long and fascinating trailer from The Legend of Zelda Wii U was shown.

Watching the trailer, many fans supposed that new Link in the game was more feminine than usual, a rumour that was further fueled by a couple of comments from Eiji Aonuma, producer of the series, who had hinted that this new Link was a girl. A few days later, however, it was discovered that Aonuma was only joking and he reassured that Link in The Legend of Zelda Wii U would be male as in previous instalments of the series. Has Linkle's announcement anything to do with this little episode?

Obviously, we're just speculating . Hyrule Warriors: Legends will also be available as a limited edition bundle that includes a clock-compass and a copy of the game. The game and the bundle will be available from March 25. Below, you can take a look at the trailer revealing this limited edition.
