Dontnod released the first episode of Life is Strange 2 in September, and given the episodic format of the game and the precedent set by the studio with the first, many fans expected the second episode to land sooner rather than later. If you're among those waiting to get their hands on the next chapter of Daniel and Sean's story, you've got a while longer to wait after the studio confirmed that it wasn't going to see release until January 2019.
"We understand that there are certain expectations that episodes will be released at a similar cadence as previous Life is Strange games have," a studio rep wrote in dev blog. "The ambition of Life is Strange 2, however, means that the previous frameworks no longer apply if we are to meet the quality of play and storytelling that our vision for a game like this demands and that you deserve."
And so the studio confirmed its plan to launch in January, although they did suggest that we're going to find out more about the next chapter in the series at some point in mid-December.
We enjoyed the second season's opener when we played it for review and it "certainly managed to tug on our heartstrings a few times." Let's hope the next one is just as good if not better.
