League of Legends themed prosthetics coming next year

This passion project at a hackathon turned into a fully-fledged partnership with Limbitless, based on five different designs.

League of Legends developer Riot Games has revealed in a blog post that a team of 'Rioters' have partnered with Limbitless Solutions to create affordable prosthetic arms for children across the US, themed around the MOBA game.

Limbitless Solutions is a non-profit organisation at the University of Central Florida creating prosthetics for kids who need them, with many partnerships already under their belt, and basing previous models on the Blue Man Group and Iron Man.

During a hackathon at Thunderdome - an initiative where people get 48 hours to make something - five designs were settled on by a team, based on Odyssey Jinx, Star Guardian, Shurima, Illaoi, and Maokai. Odyssey Jinx was selected as the flagship model, and was chosen for full-size printing by both parties.

Miniature models were made, and Limbitless helped make sure that each model was the correct size, with the final product being shown off at the show's final fair. If you're interested as to what these models look like, you can check out the pictures below.

All five of these designs and a short story on each will be available on Limbitless' catalogue next year, so keep an eye out for those.

Do you like what these Rioters have done?
