League of Legends is one of the biggest PC games in the world right now, but what if the game was heading to mobile devices too? A new report from Reuters claims that this might be the case, as alleged sources have told them that Tencent is working with Riot to develop this mobile version.
One source said that Riot rejected a proposal many years ago to make a mobile version, and Tencent has since made Honour of Kings, which launched as Arena of Valor in the western markets.
The report claims Tencent and Riot have been working on this mobile version for over a year, but that it's unlikely to come in 2019. Other than that details are scarce, since the project is confidential, but considering League of Legends' success this rumour doesn't seem too ridiculous to be true. That said, take everything with a pinch of salt, since it's unconfirmed.
Elsewhere in Tencent news the company has just acquired 100% of Swedish studio Sharkmob as they work towards an unannounced online game.
