LCS Lock-In 2026: Lyon overcomes Cloud9 to take first North American tournament of the year
Lyon will also be NA's representative at the First Stand Tournament.
It wasn't just the EMEA's LEC Versus event that came to a close yesterday, as some of the other regional tournaments also wrapped up, including North America's LCS Lock-In 2026. This pitted many of the best LCS teams against second division teams from the region too, all in a bid to lift the first regional trophy of the year and to secure the only spot at the international First Stand Tournament for NA too.
As the finals occurred last night, we now know that Lyon has come out on top after defeating Cloud9 in the grand finale in a 3-1 fashion. This result means that Lyon will be heading to Sao Paulo, Brazil between March 16-22 as NA's representative at the tournament, all while the team will now have a target on its back in its home region as everyone will be looking to knock them off their throne in the coming LCS events.
It should be said that it wasn't easy for Lyon to earn this victory however, as it had to go through the entirety of the elimination bracket in the playoffs, knocking out FlyQuest, Team Liquid, and Sentinels, all before taking C9's scalp too. Impressive work, indeed.
