At Gamescom we spoke with Rise of the Tomb Raider's lead designer William Kerslake from Crystal Dynamics to learn more about the new content that's coming out for the game alongside the PS4 version.

There are three DLCs that are coming with the twentieth anniversary which are Blood Ties, Endurance Co-op and Lara's Nightmare. Speaking about Blood Ties, Kerslake said the manor "is the perfect place to celebrate both the old and the new of Tomb Raider and bring it all together in one package, and so we thought okay so what are we going to do in that manor? Are we able to explore her history, her story, more about Lara's parents? Beginning to learn those things felt like the right thing to have in that space and then once we did that we started looking at what kind of technologies we potentially put together with this and PSVR sounded really exciting to us".

He also spoke about Endurance, and each time you play it's on a "procedurally based map, so we have a world that's made out of all these different hexes and we've rearranged the map every time that you play". The randomness "was really important to us" and so they wanted to add that into the co-op mode as well as typically co-op features like sharing resources and picking each other up.

This "most comprehensive package of everything that is Rise of the Tomb Raider" will come not only to those with the collection on PS4, but also to those on PC and Xbox One who have the season pass.
