We've been hearing rumours of L.A. Noire making its way to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for quite some time, but many lost hope as time went by. Then, we started hearing rumours about a Nintendo Switch version back in January, before hearing whispers of a VR and first-person mode a few months later. Turns out all of the above was true.
Rockstar has announced that L.A. Noire is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and HTC Vive on November 14. These versions won't be exactly the same either. The PS4 and Xbox One versions will include all of the expansions and a whole bunch of technical enhancements. We're talking enhanced lighting, new cinematic camera angles, high-resolution textures, and more. PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X players will even get to enjoy it in 4K.
Then there's the Switch version. This will, as you probably suspected, have a few unique features. We'll get the option to use a special Joy-Con mode to gesture and control Cole with thanks to the gyroscopic, gesture-based controls, enjoy some extra immersion with the HD rumble, new wide over-the-shoulder camera angles, and contextual touch screen controls when on the go.
The only version that won't include the entire game and its expansions is L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files for HTC Vive. This version will instead contain seven of the original cases from L.A. Noire rebuilt specifically for virtual reality. Rockstar doesn't want to reveal the specific missions but promises more details in the near future.
