According to reports Konami has shut down its LA-based studio. The Californian studio was originally established as a part of Kojima Productions in 2013, with the purpose of working on the multiplayer-focussed Metal Gear Online.

Now, according to sources such as 3D Realms co-founder George Broussard and Eurogamer, the studio has shut its doors with around 35 jobs apparently lost, this less than a month after the launch of Metal Gear Online (apparently responsibility for Metal Gear Online was shifted to Konami's Japan-based studio before the launch of The Phantom Pain).

The apparent closure of the studio appears to be the latest move by Konami in an ongoing series of events that included developer Hideo Kojima leaving the company last month. We'll update you here with more news on the matter if and when it becomes available.
