Konami reveals Anniversary Collection series

Since our industry is rather young we don't get many 50th anniversaries to celebrate, but it has indeed been 50 years since Konami was founded, and they've revealed an Anniversary Collection series of bundles to celebrate their historic titles on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.

All of these will be exclusively digital, and the first one we'll see is Arcade Classics, landing on April 18 for $19.99 USD. This contains eight titles from the '80s, these being:

• Haunted Castle


• Typhoon (A-Jax)


• Nemesis (Gradius)


• Vulcan Venture (Gradius II)


• Life Force (Salamander)


• Thunder Cross


• Scramble


• TwinBee

On top of that you'll also get an eBook with the collection as well, giving information about the games including interviews with the developers, behind-the-scenes details, and design documents never seen before.

In the summer we can expect Castlevania and Contra collections as well, presumably releasing in the same way and having the same price. With regards to the former, this is "designed to be a completed collection around the origins of the historic franchise," and we know a few of the games included from the product page, with a limited amount of Contra games already revealed too. Again, both of these will feature eBooks too.
