Who doesn't remember Timesplitters? The franchise is perhaps one of the most influential on consoles in the 2000s, which a lot of us absolutely fell head over heels for due to its awesome humour, cool art style, all the pop-culture references, and of course all the ways we could customise and modify it.
If you've missed the series, we've got great news for you, as Koch Media has announced that they've acquired the rights to the series, which allows them to make new games based on the brand. Future games will be produced by Deep Silver, which is Koch Media's publishing label.
"We are hugely excited to have acquired Timesplitters," commented Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media GmbH, in the official press release. "The original games gave fans a massive content offer and provided a pure and genuinely fun arcade shooter experience. We have many fans of the Timesplitters series among our own staff who are passionate about creating a product that will thrill todays gaming audience."
They've also secured the rights to the sci-fi adventure Second Sight, which was released way back in 2004, and featured a nice blend of stealth and action.
Now we don't know what they're planning on doing with these rights - if they're going for remasters of the old games or making new ones - but we hope something might be revealed at Gamescom next week. Fingers crossed!
Would you like remasters, or brand new games?
