The original King of Dragon Pass was released 15 years ago, and it still remains a truly unique experience. Strategic resource management, diplomcay and story telling were woven into a rich tapestry, and now it seems that we will finally get some more.
The creator of the original King of Dragon Pass, David Dunham, has strated a blog, where he talks about his next project. The working title is "Six Ages", and it will be the spiritual successor for KoDP.
Dunham doesn't get into the details, such as how the game will actually turn out, but he did offer a glimpse into the project:
"I can say that the game will consist of meaningful story choices tied together by the economic challenges facing a small community. It will be set in Glorantha and draw from its rich cultures and mythology. And it's intended to be highly replayable."
Dunham will join forces with traditional RPG designer Robin D. Laws, Jan Pospíšil (who did the illustrations for KoDP) and Pat Ward. If you're into non-traditional games, then this is a project to watch out for. It will undoubtedly be something different, as Dunham said he didn't want to do anything conventional or another KoDP.
