Imran Khan speculates it could be coming "sooner than we think", and it seems increasingly likely we'll get the sequel.

Considering the success of the PS4-exclusive Spider-Man title from Insomniac last year, along with Sony acquiring the studio back in August, many have been speculating that a sequel is in the works, and now Push Square has reported on a rumour coming from the Kinda Funny Gamescast, adding fuel to the fire.

Imran Khan from Kinda Funny claims to know "too much" about plans for a sequel, but he speculates that it'll come "sooner than we think", with "Christmas 2021" being thrown in there as a guess.

Since this is speculation, don't take it as gospel, but he seems sure enough that it's in the works, and it wouldn't be surprising to see this release window considering the PS5 is due for release in the holidays of 2020.

Perhaps Insomniac and Sony would rather it be a launch title for the PS5 though? Time will tell, but remember that it's only been a year since the first Spider-Man launched on PS4, so more time may be needed to get another one out.

Would you like another Spider-Man game?

"The Heist is not a particularly impressive or memorable expansion, but it's fun and it comes with some interesting moments."
