Legendary (and notorious) game developer and Id Software founder John Romero is getting back into first-person shooter development, and he's not doing it alone. In a teaser video posted on Romero's YouTube channel, the Doom creator hints that he's teaming up with an old colleague - fellow Doom dev and Id founder Adrian Carmack.
The video riffs on the closing scene of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, so if you're worried about having that spoiled (what? How!?), don't watch it.
The video points viewers in the direction of Night Work Games, the studio that Romero is heading up in Ireland (where he now lives). There's not much info on the site yet, other than word that they're building "a new first person shooter". You can sign up for a newsletter though, and the first issue is supposed to be sent out on April 29. We're guessing there'll be more details at that point.
