John Cena to play Duke Nukem in the upcoming movie

WWE star and actor John Cena will take on the role of Duke Nukem in the upcoming movie of the iconic game hero. This was confirmed by producer Andrew Form (The Purge, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) in an interview with CinemaBlend.

"Yeah, that's what we're working with now. He is. Yes. We don't have a script yet, so that is confirmed at this point but if he reads the script and he doesn't like the script I'm sure there's ways that he could pull out, but right now he's our guy."

In January this year Cena was already rumoured for the role. In the same interview the producers also confirm they want the Duke Nukem movie to have the same tone as the Deadpool movie, with a mix between action and humour: "the goal, is for it to be a really fun ride".
