Jem and the Holograms is now available to stream on Prime
And nicely enough, that includes all 65 episodes, likely as a warm-up for the rumoured reboot.
If you grew up during the wonderful 1980s with all its iconic and cult-classic animated TV series that are still going strong today, then you'll remember Jem and the Holograms. It aired from 1985 to 1988 and tells the story of record label owner Jerrica Benton, who leads a secret life as the superstar Jem, complete with a huge, bright pink hairstyle typical of the era.
She and her band, The Holograms, had countless fierce showdowns with the troublemakers in The Misfits and The Stingers. Since Jem and the Holograms was broadcast in the same time slot as shows like Transformers and G.I. Joe, many boys also watched what was clearly marketed as a show for girls, something that has made it fondly remembered to this day.
And now you can enjoy it again. All 65 episodes are now available to stream on Amazon Prime. It seems Amazon wants to remind people just how groovy this series really is (Jem and the Holograms had one of the best soundtracks of the '80s, and that's saying a lot), as there have been frequent reports that they're currently working on a new TV series based on the original.
