After director James Gunn was fired from Guardians of the Galaxy 3 for offensive tweets earlier this year, BBC Newsbeat has reported that he has signed on to write the new Suicide Squad film, according to their sources.
What's more is that the same report claims this film won't be a direct sequel, but rather a "new take", with Guardians of the Galaxy actor Dave Bautista also tweeting "where do I sign up!" in reference to the report. This isn't too surprising either, as Bautista has previously voiced his opinion that he wouldn't want to be in the third Guardians film if they didn't use Gunn's script.
This means Gunn is one of the few people to jump from Marvel to DC or vice versa. What do you want to see him do with the Suicide Squad film?
