The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) represents over 30,000 people working in video game industry. AIAS has now announced that Jade Raymond, who is currently employed by Electronic Arts (formerly Ubisoft), has been appointed to the AIAS Board of Directors.

Raymond serves as "SVP and Group General Manager for Electronic Arts' PopCap Vancouver and Motive Studios", and is also in charge of the "HD Star Wars portfolio" for EA as a whole.

"I've known Jade for a long time, and I've always had a deep respect for her and her work. She's a true industry leader with a genuine passion for the art of making video games," said Meggan Scavio, President, Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (and former GDC general manager). "We have a shared goal to continue to support the video game industry and I can't wait to work with her at the Academy."
