Is Skyrim for Nintendo Switch not the Special Edition?

Maybe some people are just reading too much into the name?

According to Gamer Headquarters, as posted by folks on Reddit, it may very well be that the upcoming Nintendo Switch version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is not the remastered Special Edition, but the original Skyrim instead.

For example the name of the game doesn't have "Special Edition" in it at all. There is not a mention of the improvements like there was when the Special Edition was marketed.

On the other hand there is not that much of a difference between the regular version and the Special Edition, and we don't think anybody expected Skyrim on the Switch to be on par with PS4 or Xbox One, let alone on par with the PC and its vibrant modding community and such.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for the Switch is launching this fall, but expect to hear some new information on it at this year's E3 in June.
