The Brazilian Counter-Strike team now formerly known as Tempo Storm has found a new home. The squad has joined US esports organisation Immortals and will begin playing under their banner immediately.

The sale is apparently a direct result of the team being snubbed out of participating in Eleague, the Counter-Strike league being broadcast on TBS in the US. Speaking to Yahoo Esports, Tempo Storm owner and founder Andrey "Reynad" Yanyuk says that past conflicts between him and key staff members of WME-IMG (who runs Eleague along with TBS) were likely a factor in the team being passed over for the league.

And given the issues between him and the Eleague higher-ups, he felt selling the team was the best option, he says. He didn't want to hold his team back. "I said, if Immortals are gonna give you a chance to play in this league, I don't wanna stop you. So I made the deal happen. I took a big hit there, because I do feel I sold the team for a lot less than what market value is".

(We suggest watching the whole interview, it's pretty good!)

The organisation that the former Tempo Storm squad is joining is a bit of a shooting star on the scene. Backed by heavy investments from people like Memphis Grizzlies co-owner Steve Kaplan and Linkin Park, Immortals hit the North American League of Legends scene with force this year. Their squad of high-profile players dominated the Spring split regular season, finishing with a 17-1 record. Their playoff appearance was disappointing given that result, though, as they only ended up in third place.

Still, the new Immortals CS:GO team should have all the support they could need from their new organisation.

Immortals' CS:GO team consists of:
Henrique "HEN1" Teles
Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles
Gustavo "SHOOWTIME" Gonçalves
João "felps" Vasconcellos
Ricardo "boltz" Prass

Immortals will be playing in the ESL One Cologne qualifiers in Poland next week.
