Ok, ok, I'll be more serious here. The universe's most adorable tree is back in TV format and this time, Groot's mini-adventures are being launched as little vignettes that all revolve around mini-Groot and all the cute adventures he has. It's all computer animated and in an extremely short format, with each "episode" being around four minutes long. In other words, I am Groot has more in common with the Pixar mystery Dug Days than it really does with the rest of Marvel's TV catalogue, which is perfectly fine as a little pastime. No more, no less. It's not about some sort of puzzle piece in the current Multiverse Saga or any necessary character development for everyone's favourite plant: it's a sweet distraction more than anything else.

There's nothing here that needs to be connected to the current Marvel phase, it's just lil-Groot doing what lil-Groot does best: mischief and having fun. The kids at home will probably love it, while the older members of the household won't pick up much here. It's 20 minutes of inarguable Groot-nonsense for the whole family.

It could have done with being a little more naughty than it really is, but the sketches capture mini Groot's character in a playful way. In one sketch he plays Gulliver's Travels, while in another he fights an unmoving bonsai tree, and all the shorts capture different sides of baby Groot's exuberant personality, and in the end you don't have to expect more than that from this cute little sketch show.
