Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition

How did Duke Nukem end up in Bulletstorm?

We talked to Gearbox Software's Meredith Hershey about a rather special pre-order bonus.

We sat down with Gearbox Software's Meredith Hershey to learn more about why People Can Fly's Bulletstorm is being brought back to life and what Duke Nukem's got to do with it.

"Originally we were thinking 'what can we do for a pre-order bonus?'", recalls Hershey when asked about Duke Nukem's inclusion. "And we wanted to do something that involved Duke. And we were originally going to do maybe like a multiplayer skin or something. And you know, we were like 'we want it to be more, we want to be able to make Duke a part of this world'. So we decided to do a campaign mode with Duke. We called up Jon St. John, he came in."

"He was originally just going to record Grayson's lines and he was 'you know I feel like Duke wouldn't say some of this stuff', so he had a lot of input on what we ended up re-writing and stuff like that. You're going to play through the game and you'll see that Duke maybe doesn't realise why he's there. He kind of just randomly appeared and nobody seems to realise that he's not Grayson."
