HMV will not be accepting trade-ins of Resident Evil: The Mercenaries, while still carrying new copies of the game, VG247 have been told. The reason, not surprisingly, is the fact that saved games on the cartridge aren't deletable - HMV said that they won't sell used copies to "avoid any potential customer disappointment for those purchasing a pre-owned version."

Retailer chain Game will though, while the Australian branch of EB Games decided to pull the game completely. Capcom claim that they didn't factor in the used games market when deciding on the feature.

"The Duo games are also a lot easier as the difficulty doesn't change. If you know what you are doing you are going to run out of enemies before you run out of time."
