Hitman to get a new update ahead of second episode
New features and quality-of-life updates before Sapienza drops.
In preparation for when the next Hitman episode, Sapienza, drops on April 26, the game will be getting a 'pre-Sapienza' update, adding a few new features and fixing a lot of the things players fed back to developers.
The update adds a much-needed reconnect option, which allows players in online modes to rejoin a game without losing any progress, should they disconnect for any reason. On top of this, you now get challenge rewards the instant they are completed, rather than you having to wait for the end of the mission to claim them. Loading and restart times have also been significantly reduced, by around 50% on PS4 and Xbox One (hurrah!).
There are also some slight updates to the game's HUD, adding three options for displaying the holstered/equipped weapon icon: Full, showing the HUD for both the holstered and equipped weapons; Minimal, showing only the equipped weapon's HUD; and Off, which turns off the weapon HUD entirely. You can also see where you've dropped weapons, disguises and items on the map.
The update is already out for PC owners, with the promise that the update will be out on console before the next episode drops next Tuesday. Head this way for our preview of the upcoming Sapienza content drop.
