At Gamescom 2016 we got to talk with Hitman's Lead Online Designer Torben Ellert about the game and more specifically the upcoming fifth episode called Freedom Fighters (also the name of an old IO Interactive title for those who remember), which he promises will offer something totally different and very hostile.
"As we saw at the end of the Bangkok level," Ellert said, "there's been a big reveal. The shadow client is actually the person that's been pulling the strings behind the scenes throughout the season, so in this mission we travel to the US, more specifically to Colorado, to take on the shadow client and their militia."
He continued "tourism is a really big thing for the season of Hitman and when we decided we wanted to go back to the US we wanted to do that in a way that was a little bit different to what you usually see which is New York, Washington, something like that. We wanted to go toa place that was quintessentially American, but isn't really a place you often see, so we decided on a farm in Colorado at six in the morning. It's a really evocative location blended up with this really dangerous environment that 47 is going into, potentially the most dangerous environment of his career."
Freedom Fighters is due to launch on September 27.
