Heroic has been on a tear in the competitive Counter-Strike space this year, with a victory at the BLAST Premier: Spring Final and a second place finish at IEM Katowice 2023. But now the team is facing a bunch of internal issues that are ripping its team apart.

Earlier this month, the team announced that it would be allowing Casper "cadiaN" Møller to explore other options, and now the reason for this has come out. A statement reveals that cadiaN was being forced out of the team by teammates Martin "stavn" Lund and Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard, all as part of an agreement that once a replacement for cadiaN was found they would extend their contracts with the team.

However, now that the time has come for contract extensions, Heroic has revealed that stavn and jabbi have made future plans with rival organisation, Astralis, despite still having 10 months on their Heroic contracts. This has led to a breach of trust and meant that Heroic has decided to drop both players from the team.

Talking about plans for the future, Heroic adds: "While handling the short term uncertainty and planning for a long term solution, Heroic's ambition is to bring stavn and jabbi back. Our performance staff have made a plan to support their potential return to the starting lineup."

The full statement from Heroic can be found below.
