There have been leaks aplenty after Fortnite was sucked into a black hole at the weekend, including trailers for the Chapter 2 Season 1 Battle Pass and the opening movie, and now Epic Games has lifted the lid on Chapter 2 via its official site.

They've provided a post that outlines what we can expect from this new phase of Fortnite, including a new island featuring 13 fresh locations, some of which allow you to engage in "new water gameplay", from swimming to motorboats and fishing.

There are even more ways to support your allies as well, as you can heal teammates with the Bandage Bazooka, carry them to safety, and use group emotes like high fives to celebrate the major wins.

If secrecy is more your game, you can be more discreet now by hiding in haystacks and dumpsters, or you can blow up gas tanks and explosive barrels if you want to go the other way.

In terms of the minute-to-minute combat, this has been improved, streamlining the weapon arsenal and allowing you to upgrade them using resources at an upgrade bench.

There's a brand new Battle Pass with this Chapter as well, featuring a fresh XP system and medals that you earn in matches. This is all outlined here, and with this Battle Pass we can expect seven outfits, each with an alter-ego.

This runs from now until December 12, and still costs 950 V-Bucks. You can earn up to 1,500 V-Bucks just by playing though, and the aforementioned medals and XP can be earned in-game, from eliminating opponents to completing challenges and searching chests.

The new Battle Pass also brings new wraps for your guns too, as well as gliders, axes, backpacks, and more, as you'd expect. You can even keep progressing beyond level 100 too, if you really want.

Are you ready to head in?
