We all know what it's like to head out on the town and to meet up with friends these days. Thanks to our smartphones doing literally everything you could ever want them to do, it's very easy to get distracted and to procrastinate instead of enjoying the company you're keeping in-person. Fortunately, Heineken has taken it on itself to tackle and overcome this issue.

The beer maker has teamed up with street culture brand Bodega to create what is known as The Boring Phone. It's regarded as such because it has reduced tech capabilities and is meant to encourage folk to enjoy their time with people in-person, by being disconnected from the internet and only able to send messages and take/receive calls.

The Boring Phone has a battery that claims to be able to remain on standby for a week, as well as offering 20 hours of call time. It also has a transparent design that makes it seem like it came from the early 2000s.

For those who don't want to actually buy one of these phones, Heineken will be launching a boring app this June, so people can disconnect and enjoy a physical and present life once again.
