VR is still a big focus in the world of gaming, as evidenced from E3 and After the Fall, the newest title from Vertigo Games. To get a deeper understanding of this title in particular, we spoke with game designer Nick Witsel to see just how After the Fall is expanding on the developmental strides the team made with Arizona Sunshine.

"We obviously have some experience with making shooters with Arizona Sunshine," said Witsel. "What we learned from that also was, especially with VR was having intuitive controls is a must. As you know when shooting you can have two weapons in your hands, you can always swap them, both hands have basically the same control scheme. So, having that being realistic as you normally would play and having the option to play the game left-handed is incredibly important."

After the Fall is a VR FPS experience set in an apocalyptic Los Angeles, where a terrible catastrophe has caused humanity to crumble and savage monsters called the Snowbreed are ravaging the land. This title, which shares a lot of the shooting mechanics first brought to life in Arizona Sunshine, can be played with up to four other people in an epic multiplayer mode.

As of right now, After the Fall is set for a 2020 launch, and Witsel suggested that they "aim to get as many people playing the game as possible", so expect a multiplatform launch when it does drop.
